OrthoAid is a nonprofit organization founded with a simple idea: Durable Medical Equipment(DME) that is no longer being used can still make a meaningful difference in someone else’s recovery. The inspiration for OrthoAid came when Shivam Srivastava and Siddharth Srivastava noticed that their grandmother used a walker for only a short time after her knee replacement. Once she recovered, the walker remained unused in the house. They realized that many other patients likely had similar equipment sitting in closets, basements, and garages—while other people in the community might be unable to afford the very same items.
